Hey there! 👋 My name is Rita Correiaand I hope you’re having a good Sunday night.

I’m a Senior Digital Operations Manager & Web Product Manager (Scrum Product Owner, AgilePM® and PRINCE2® certified), with experience in Frontend Engineering, passionate about customer-centric products and building accessible, user-friendly web apps with cutting-edge technology that meet users needs.

About

In 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Technology, which gave me solid foundations of user-centric design, computer science and coding.

In the last 14 years, I have successfully managed a plethora of high-profile web and mobile platforms, in cross-functional environments, bridging business strategy and technical implementation, managing on-site and remote teams using Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies. I'm a certified Scrum Product Owner, AgilePM® and PRINCE2®.

You can find me at the intersection of product management, delivery, UX/UI design, with strong organisational and interpersonal skills and an eagerness to improve user experience and product satisfaction. I bring a keen interest in aesthethics and usability, with a proven record of working with high-profile companies such as Morrisons, Burberry, Now TV (Sky) and Quintain.

In 2020, I reignited my passion for software engineering.

I've acquired practical knowledge in software development specialising in frontend engineering technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6), React, Next.js, D3.js, Redux, Firebase, Git, GitHub and command line.
In early 2021, I worked as a Frontend Engineer, which gave me the opportunity to better understand how technical teams work by having hands-on experience and allowing me to become a better product manager.

Soon after, I transitioned into a Digital Operations Manager role in Property Tech at Quintain Living , where I lead and manage the digital product, with a focus on customer experience as well as operational and business goals. I manage the web & app delivery teams acting as the Product Owner, helping deliver features that are fit for purpose and that meet the users needs and business requirements. I was then promoted to a Senior role taking more product ownership and responsibilites.

I'm passionate about streamlined customer experiences and intuitive UX/UI design.

I also enjoy writing tech articles, having been featured on DEV's Top 7.

Polluto

A geolocation-based web app built in React that fetches real-time air pollution data. Uses Google Maps API and IQAir API.
(N.b. The IQAir API plan caps at 5 calls/min - which occasionally prevents the card component from showing!)

This web app is built in vanilla JavaScript and fetches and maps real-time availability of London’s Santander Bikes using geolocation, Google Maps API and TfL API.

Bright: Job Board Web App

This app is currently in production and being built with React, Next.js and CSS modules, integrating data from the GitHub Jobs API using Node.js.
